Oscar Dominguez’ small sculptures are objects that condense in themselves the same primary materials used in larger works outdoors or in closed spaces: iron, wood and terracotta.
Terracotta is the first element of synthesis ever created by man and expertly mixes the four natural elements: earth, water, fire and air. The power of this matter is released directly towards the observer, who then brings it into his everyday life.
In these sculptures, the relationship between work of art and man is direct, an intimate and silent face-to-face encounter. Their creation generates a close dialogue between man and matter, an exchange of glances and thoughts that involves the observer and necessarily leads to live the present forcefully. A non-verbal plastic language that can lead to an aesthetic experience, an interior illumination.
